Here at the theatre, we have kept ourselves busy and our audiences engaged with our radio plays that we have been broadcasting every Friday via Facebook Live. As we move into July, we will be winding back a little and producing one new radio play every two weeks. On our off weeks, we will stream repeat performances of our earlier shows. Once we are fully open again, we do intend to continue producing radio plays at the rate of at least one per month, so you can expect radio productions to be a part of our ongoing schedule.
Our next radio production is the 1943 Academy Award winning classic, The Maltese Falcon, in which Humphrey Bogart portrayed the famous Sam Spade, private eye detective. Join us for the premier, via Facebook Live, at 6.00pm on Friday June 26th.
Soon we will be holding our summer camps. Disney's Aladdin JR begins July 13th and there are a handful of spots left. Please go to our website, SiouxFallsTheatre.com to register. In the interest of the safety and well being of our campers, we will be complying with all CDC summer camp recommendations.
Our Education Coordinator, Jordan Deffenbaugh, will be leaving us to pursue his interests in Civic Biodesign with the Bam Institute of Civic Biodesign. He has been invaluable to us especially during this COVID-19 period. His skills and talents as a sound effects engineer have been used to make our radio productions sound so slick and professional. We thank him and wish him good luck with his future endeavors! We would also like to welcome Alex Newcomb Weiland to the team as the Interim Education Coordinator. Alex has her BFA in Musical Theatre with a Minor in Dance from the University of South Dakota. Alex recently moved to New York to pursue an acting career but will be home during the summer. We are fortunate to have her come on board to manage our summer camp program!
