I couldn’t be more pleased with the progress that we are making to expand our vision and secure our future. Our pilot program to expand our Sioux Empire footprint outside of Sioux Falls, by touring Steel Magnolias to Madison, Mitchell, ICON and Dell Rapids, was a success. I can’t thank the cast and crew enough for giving of their precious time and incredible talent. We intend to have a traveling show each season and will continue to look for ways to improve upon this program. We did learn that there is a healthy appetite for quality and affordable live theatre in the Sioux Empire region.
I also want to thank all of those who volunteered their time and muscle with the move to the new scene shop. Robin and Heather Byrne, Randy Ruud, Erin Mulvany and so many others who pitched in to make it happen -- including Lloyd Companies who contributed labor and materials to the tune of $50,000 to the build out.
On the heels of the great success of Mamma Mia, cast and crew are rehearsing for our next show, Tuesdays With Morrie. It is a great story and we have a great show lined up for you. Please help us get the word out to family, friends and colleagues. We are very grateful to Sanford Health and Dan and Arlene Kirby for their sponsorship.
We continue to move the ball on a program to build long-term financial viability. These sponsorships and in-kind contributions are a part of that effort. The recent $45,000 grant to our Children’s Program and The Penguin Project, as well as all the great press we have been getting, are all part of a concerted effort to get the word out that we are stronger and better than ever and looking to grow our list of community supporters.
Thank you for all that you do. Without our patrons, our volunteers and dedicated staff, we would not exist.
Have a great Thanksgiving holiday and hope to see you at Tuesdays with Morrie!
