A Note from our President, Rick Weiland

So many great things happening with Sioux Empire Community Theatre! I hope you had a chance to see Tuesday’s With Morrie. Congratulations to the cast and crew who brought forward another quality performance and production. We are fortunate to have such a deep pool of talent who are willing to share their time and expertise making it possible for our organization to bring “quality and affordable” theatre to the Sioux Empire region.

Our Board of Directors continues to work on improving the organization and we encourage your feedback. A recent customer survey was helpful in highlighting both our strengths and weaknesses, what we are doing right and what we can improve upon. Please know that everyone on the board of directors is committed to making this organization the best that it can possibly be. We continue to be impressed and appreciative of our budding partnership with the Washington Pavilion. They continue to demonstrate their interest in our success, from helping us to improve the quality of our productions with professional technical support and equipment, to understanding and appreciating the economics of a community based theatre organization.

As you know, we are expanding our education and children’s theatre programs. With the generous help of the non-profit organization, Giving Hope, we have hired a part-time Education Coordinator, Jordan Deffenbaugh. Jordan brings years of experience, lots of passion, and is certain to take these programs to the next level. Welcome Jordan!

Next up, Lend Me A Tenor! This hilarious farce will preview at ICON for a special Valentine’s Day dinner theater, Friday, February 14th and then open at the Orpheum on Thursday, February 20th. We have another excellent cast and crew and it is going to be a great show.

Finally, stay tuned for our upcoming announcement of Season 18. We hope you will be as excited as we are.
