The health and safety of our staff, cast, crew and patrons is and will always be our first priority. As we continue to monitor and adjust to the developing public health crisis caused by the coronavirus, I wanted you to know that we are taking all necessary precautions to mitigate the fallout from this pandemic.
We postponed our winter camp performance of Alice@ Wonderland that was scheduled to open last weekend and will be rescheduled for a later date. The cast and crew worked hard right up to the last scheduled dress rehearsal and will be ready to perform at a date in the very near future.
We just finished up auditions and selected an outstanding cast for our last play of Season 17, Disney's Beauty and The Beast. Rehearsals were scheduled to begin on Tuesday, March 17th but in light of the most recent COVID-19 update, we have made the decision to postpone the show. It is our hope that the steps we are taking now, along with the rest of the country, to deploy social distancing to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, will allow us to convene full rehearsals and perform the show at a later date.
We are hoping for the best but are taking the necessary steps to mitigate the health and financial impacts of this crisis. Fortunately, the steps we took two years ago, when we were facing our own financial crisis, have put us in a strong financial position to meet our obligations for the foreseeable future. Rest assured, that we will monitor this developing situation closely, adjust accordingly and do our best to keep you informed.
On behalf of the Sioux Empire Community Theatre Board of Directors, Staff and volunteers, we want to thank you for your continued support of live community theatre and trust that you will take good care of yourself and loved ones in the days, weeks and months ahead.
