With the recent resurgence of COVID-19 infections in most states around the country, the Sioux Empire Community Theatre is continuing to explore options for how we can best move forward to meet our mission of providing ‘quality and affordable’ live theatre in the Sioux Empire. The Board made the difficult decision, earlier this month, to cancel our summer youth camps and to focus our efforts on getting ready for upcoming Season 18, which is currently scheduled to open in December.
We appreciate everyone who participated in our recent ‘official patron survey.’ I know that Shakespeare AI, our newest staff member, enjoyed asking you questions and receiving your answers. Here are a few top lines of some of the results Shakespeare pulled together after surveying over 600 of you:
87% of you remained concerned about the COVID-19 pandemic
88% of you plan on attending future Sioux Empire Community Theatre
plays at the Orpheum
86% of you want us to incorporate social distancing seating and CDC recommended safety guidelines for our shows at the Orpheum. We are serious about protecting you and our staff, cast and crew – as we look forward to launching our next Season. Your willingness to participate and share your thoughts provides us a clear roadmap on how we need to proceed.
As we gear up for our next Season, trust that we will continue ‘assessing the
situation’ and that we will take the necessary measures to the safest possible experience. I think you are going to be excited about the plays we have chosen for Season 18. Stay tuned!!
