Greetings fellow theater lovers! I wanted to be the first to extend my appreciation to all of you who volunteered on stage, back stage, in the house or any of the many other places that helped make Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat a success. We had such a great time renewing old friendships and creating new ones! Further, I would like to thank the hundreds of you who purchased tickets and attended the performances at YOUR community theater. I believe strongly in the community that theater can build, and as we begin the process of re-building our community theater your support matters so much more than it ever did before!
Moving forward is never as romantic as it sounds, but it is, by nature, an opportunity to step into the future. This could never be more true than it is for the Sioux Empire Community Theatre. While I’m not on the board, and no one asked me to write to you in this newsletter, I want to speak to you as a director. We are always looking for more talent, new talent, and even hidden talent. Whether that is singers and actors, painters or crafters, or just a friendly face and some organizational skills, we need you. I need you.
As of this week, A Christmas Carol is just getting underway under the leadership of my colleague Matt Nesmith, and soon production week will be here. Therefore, I ask you, our community, to think of a new way you can support this important organization. Bring a friend, make a call, or take a new risk. At the end of the day, I encourage you to take the next step in becoming a bigger part of the Sioux Empire Community Theater family, by volunteering auditioning, or renewing your season membership—the house is open! And as Joseph sang, “Any Dream Will Do.”
See you at the theater,
Eric Parrish, Director
