MEET JORDAN DEFFENBAUGH, EDUCATION COORDINATOR

It is with great pleasure that we announce that Jordan Deffenbaugh will be joining the Sioux Empire Community Theatre as Education Coordinator!

Jordan is a recognized actor-combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Performance, Directing, and Theatre Management from the Johnny Carson School of Theatre, Film and New Media at the University of NE-Lincoln.

While still in Lincoln, he became the Associate and Artistic Director of the Haymarket Theatre, directing dozens of plays for youth and adults, including some of his own stories and adaptations. He then worked in numerous markets across the country including assistant directing Much Ado About Nothing for Colorado Shakespeare Festival in Boulder, CO, directing his own adaptation of Alice in Wonderland for Mesa Community College in Mesa, AZ, and opening a theatre company called Nomades in Chicago, IL.

Since returning to Sioux Falls, Jordan launched a series of Lego Minecraft camps teaching kids about architecture and development using video games, co-launched the podcast studio Studio Be as creative director, and co-founded the group Strong Towns Sioux Falls, along with other community-building events.
